Welcome! Thanks for
coming by – I would like us to convert the way our current generation thinks
and behaves. We have entered a Technological society that relies strongly
on instant gratification of all kinds. When was the last time you had a
real conversation with your parents, son, or daughter? Have you noticed
that today’s society are communicating different then we did 10 years ago... It's
almost down to all texting and no talking.
Previously I went to Traffic School and saw a video of a Teen who
got into a Car accident because he simply took his eyes off the road to type a
text of lol. That Teen is a Paraplegic for the rest of his life.
When was the last time you saw your son or daughter read a book? When
did YOU? The library is full of them. When is the last time you had a real face to face conversation with your friend(s.)
Where are we going in this
life-style? The Technologic age has a hold on us. How can we begin to unlock ourselves from this trend in technology that has captured our hearts from our mouths to our hands. I'm not saying we can't text... I'm just saying lets not let it pre-occupy our time so much that we can't live without using it. There are people who are having a hard time communicating in an interview because they are not used to talking anymore to someone face to face. When your daughter is at the dinner table with her family and she can't put the phone away an stop texting her girl friend; when she should be carrying on normal conversations with her family. Now that's wrong! How about the guy at work that takes a restroom break just to text someone, cause they don't allow it in the Call Center. I had to take care of my business and there's a guy using the stall in the restroom for privacy to text someone instead of using the stall for the pupose it was intended for; meanwhile I'm waiting to go.
I recently wrote my
first book, "WordToday”. This is a 365 daily inspirational, devotional calendar full of short phraseology and proverbial-like maxims and
clichés for everyday Christian living. It is currently in conversion
process to become an Applet for the IOS Apple phone and Android phone. We are also adding pics that we all can relate to and a scripture references to help us look to
God's Word for the answers to life’s many issues.
This Applet/e-book is
being designed to help people take time to read something that will change the
way they think and live their lives. Everything starts from a thought. We've got
to re-think and help society re-learn Talking... Reading.... and Writing!
The art of Communication is changing rapidly. Let's not lose our friends over
it or ourselves! How will we reach them if they can't hear us? We have to
learn to help them get back on track and balance these areas of communication.
Power in Publishing ✍
We have been learning about what makes this new generation tick. Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter play big roles and are widely used as communication tools in this day and age. Todays generation desperately craves acceptance, recognition and communication. We communicate by what we say...what we hear... what we see and by what we read. The youth can learn to write again by writing a book... recording a new song... creating an Audio book and even taking pictures or painting one that communicates what they think/feel about life! This is a way to educate them in the process of helping them to not throw away or waste their lives on the instant gratification, on the “If-it-feels-good-do-it" syndrome. They are smart - Maybe they can turn it around and slow down enough to really enjoy life in a better, safer and healthier way.
So they might publish books on how drugs or alcohol will destroy your life if you let it or why organically grown food is better for you than fast food or why waiting for sex can help avoid some unwanted early pregnancies or impossible-to-shake diseases. Let's get them to S L O W DOWN long enough to watch out and look both ways before they ruin the only life GOD gave them.
